Jackie Earle Haley has been confirmed to star as Freddy Kruger in the Platinum Dunes’ remake of “A Nightmare on Elm Street”. In addition to Haley, Kyle Gallner is in final talks to play Quentin, the Johnny Depp character from the original Wes Craven movie.

Here is a small plot synopsis:
After being burned alive by a mob of angry parents, a pre-school gardener/caretaker named Freddy returns for revenge against the children, now 18 years old, that accused him of sexual abuse.

Was Freddy a child molester or was he falsely accused? If he was falsely accused I can understand him being pretty pissed.

This isn’t going to be the funny, wise-cracking Freddy you’ve been used to seeing. The producers have already stated that his is a horror movie and Freddy is going to be truly frightening this time.
