Missing LeBeouf finger to cause major reshoots on Transformers 2?

Ok, so Star Magazine is reporting that Shia LeBeouf had to call “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” producers yesterday, to let them know that one of his fingers may need to be amputated. In case you forgot or you just didn’t know, LeBeouf was in a car accident in West Hollywood and injured his hand. His hand injury has caused quite a stir on the Transformers 2 production, leading Michael Bay to make a statement that his injury would have to be written in the film somehow. That was before the amputee phone call however. How will Transformers work around a missing finger?
Hollywood films are not shot in sequential order, so a finger in one scene, missing in the next, back in the one after. Will they have to make major reshoots? It certainly seems like a pain to work around. Will we be seeing a delayed Transformers 2, or will they figure this mess out?
LaBeouf’s publicist Melissa Kates says the reports are “totally untrue.”
If they are false, good for him, however, the injury itself still seems like a problem to work around. A cast one scene, and not the next.
